Privacy Policy

Your data, explained simply.

What we collect when you register for an event, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what your rights are. Last updated: 1 October 2026.

1. Who we are

Crafters Bridge is an international community based in Messina, Italy, that organises social, cultural and networking events. We are responsible for the personal data collected through this website (craftersbridge.com). We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Italian privacy law.

2. What we collect

You check in at the doorThe time you arrived at the event.
You join at the door without registeringYour name, nationality and the time you arrived.
You contact usMessages from our contact and collaboration forms are not stored on this website. They are sent through your own email, WhatsApp or Instagram, and we receive them there.

We do not ask for sensitive data, and we never sell your data.

3. Why we use it

  • To manage your registration: to give you a ticket, know how many people are coming, check you in at the door and contact you about the event (for example if the time or place changes). Legal basis: your request to register (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
  • To understand our community: we count how many people come from each country. On the public website, nationalities are only ever shown as totals per country, never with names. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing the international reach of our community (art. 6(1)(f)).
  • To tell you about future events: only if you agreed when registering. You can ask us to stop at any time. Legal basis: your consent (art. 6(1)(a)).

4. Who can see it

Only the Crafters Bridge organising team, through a password-protected admin area. We do not share your details with partners, sponsors or venues.

Our website and its data are hosted by our web hosting provider, on servers in London, United Kingdom. The UK is recognised by the European Commission as giving an adequate level of data protection.

The website loads fonts and small code libraries (for maps and QR codes) from Google Fonts, jsDelivr and cdnjs. Like any website request, these services receive your device's IP address when they send these files.

5. How long we keep it

  • Registrations and check-ins: up to 24 months after the event, then deleted. Country totals stay on our world map, without any names.
  • Backups: automatic daily copies of the registration list, each kept for 90 days.
  • Security logs: to stop spam, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for one hour.

6. Photos and videos

We take photos and videos at our events and share them on our website and Instagram. When you register you can tell us whether you are happy to appear. If you see a photo of yourself that you want removed, message us and we will take it down.

7. Cookies and your device

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. After you register, your ticket is saved in your own browser (local storage) so you can find it again and check in faster. You can clear it any time in your browser settings. Our admin area uses a session cookie for the team's login only.

8. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • see the data we have about you,
  • correct it,
  • delete it,
  • stop using it for a purpose, or withdraw your consent,
  • receive a copy of it in a common format.

Just contact us (below). We reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
